PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Fertit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Nightmare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fertit comes to the cage accompanied by Deliverance. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nightmare throws a head kick that misses.
Fertit throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nightmare's waist but Nightmare gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fertit off to one side.

Nightmare has Fertit up against the cage in a clinch.

Fertit wants the takedown. Nightmare is fighting it off but Fertit persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nightmare's guard against the cage.

Fertit has hold of Nightmare's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nightmare manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nightmare tries to hold on but Fertit postures up.

Fertit seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Nightmare is holding on tight.

Fertit with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Nightmare is desperately trying to improve his position but Fertit has a good base and remains in mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nightmare can do anything to dispel that myth.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fertit manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nightmare manages to get himself to full guard.

Nightmare really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fertit. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nightmare kicks off Fertit and gets to his feet.
Fertit clinches but Nightmare breaks the clinch
and Nightmare counters with a body kick that stops Fertit in his tracks momentarily.

Nightmare dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fertit. That did some damage!

Fertit takes a kick to the side of the head.
Oh Fertit is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Nightmare counters by moving into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nightmare takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Fertit changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nightmare fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Fertit is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Nightmare defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Fertit shoots in looking for a takedown. Nightmare tries to sprawl out of it but Fertit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nightmare manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fertit closes the distance and clinches up with Nightmare, looking for a takedown. Fertit pushes Nightmare against the cage but Nightmare circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fertit throws a hook but Nightmare avoids it easily.
