Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Palacio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexi Takala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexi Takala is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rodrigo Palacio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexi Takala!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takala lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Rodrigo Palacio has been cut.
Palacio looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Takala throws a quick inside leg kick.
Alexi Takala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Palacio throws a combination that misses
and Takala cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Palacio walks into a jab.
Takala misses with a series of wild punches.
Takala fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A left lands for Takala.
Takala ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Takala throws a series of punches but Palacio avoids them all with ease.
Takala misses with a two punch combination.
Takala throws a nice looking combination but Palacio bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Takala lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Palacio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Takala swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Takala moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Palacio shoots in but no luck this time.

Takala lands a two punch combo.
Takala misses with a series of wild punches.
Takala misses with a few strikes there.
Palacio dodges the punch combination from Takala.
Palacio moves to clinch but Takala breaks away
and Palacio takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Palacio takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A combination from Takala does no damage.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Takala!
Takala feints a jab promting Palacio to slip. Takala then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Palacio slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Alexi Takala is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Takala scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Takala feints a jab promting Palacio to slip. Takala then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Palacio slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Takala is working the combinations to good effect here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Palacio throws a right and a left that both miss.
Takala goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Takala showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Palacio.
Palacio takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Takala scores with a one two! Palacio had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
A right-left combo lands from Takala.
Takala lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Takala.
Palacio is rocked!
Takala throws a combination. Palacio tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Oh Palacio is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Palacio tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Takala manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Takala lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Palacio's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Takala connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Palacio scrambles back to his feet.
Takala Rushes Palacio and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Palacio is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Takala Piles on the pressure and Palacio crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexi Takala!
