Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Cave!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ramstein Rommel!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Cave.
Rommel takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rommel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cave throws a leg kick but Rommel sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Cave takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rommel staying out of range there.
Rommel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cave throws a low kick but it's checked well by Rommel.
Rommel looks to score with a jab to the body but Cave is just out of range.

Cave rushes Rommel and presses him up against the ropes.
Cave lands a body shot in the clinch.
Cave scores with a nice hook to the head.
Cave tries to land knees in the clinch but Rommel avoids the damage to the body.
Cave working aggressively here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cave lands a nice shot to the body.

Rommel pulls guard.

Rommel working for a triangle but Cave defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rommel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cave gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cave trying to control but Rommel is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Rommel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cave defends it easily.
Rommel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rommel looking for subs off his back but Cave has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cave prevents Rommel from improving his position.

Rommel looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Rommel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cave pulls his head out easily.
Cave is pressing down on Rommel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rommel is holding on for now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rommel can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nick Cave will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cave lands the left hand.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rommel.
The strikes coming from Rommel are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Rommel looks up at the clock and then as Cave takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rommel smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rommel looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cave is avoiding damage well.

Rommel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rommel lands a decent elbow from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rommel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Cave is trying to control Rommel's posture but Rommel avoids it.

Rommel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cave, who protects the arm well.

Rommel is trying to get an arm triangle but Cave is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rommel has control of an arm but Cave manages to advance to Rommel's back!
Rommel looking very determined here, making life difficult for Cave.
Rommel wants to control his opponent's hands but Cave gets his hands free.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rommel tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Rommel is in all sorts of trouble here.
Cave can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rommel is looking to escape.
Rommel tries to reverse the position but Cave maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rommel tries to hold on but Cave postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramstein Rommel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rommel closes the distance and clinches up with Cave, looking for a takedown. Rommel pushes Cave against the ropes but Cave circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cave on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Nice uppercut lands for Cave. That snapped Rommel's head back.
Rommel throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cave counters with a left and a right that stings Rommel.
Rommel avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Cave misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rommel.
Rommel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cave pinned against the ropes. Cave gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Cave forces Rommel back against the ropes and clinches.

Rommel manages to pull guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rommel pushes a forearm under Cave's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Cave is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ramstein Rommel!
Ramstein Rommel is the new light heavyweight champion!
A relieved looking Ramstein Rommel thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
