The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salmon stuffs the takedown.
Cooper moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Cooper closes the distance and clinches up with Salmon, looking for a takedown. Cooper pushes Salmon against the cage but Salmon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cooper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cleon Salmon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cael Cooper.
Cooper shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salmon pinned against the cage. Salmon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cooper ducks right into an uppercut from Salmon.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cooper closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Salmon wants to control but Cooper is keeping busy.

Cooper is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Salmon is just riding it out for now. Cooper eventually gives up the hold.
Salmon is looking to improve his position.
