Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ajax Ajax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Anjos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raul Anjos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ajax Ajax!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Anjos!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anjos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Anjos gets a clinch.
Anjos is pushing Ajax up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Anjos ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Anjos no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ajax is looking to stand up but Anjos won't let him.

Anjos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ajax defends it easily.
Ajax would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Anjos working for a triangle but Ajax defends it easily.

Ajax got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anjos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ajax has managed to get both his arms back between Anjos's legs - danger averted.

Anjos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Anjos looking for a sweep. Not yet Anjos, not yet.
Ajax wants to stand but Anjos is controlling his posture from full guard.
Anjos is trying to control the position but Ajax postures up.
Anjos lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ajax!

Anjos has hold of Ajax's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ajax manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Ajax knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anjos on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Anjos cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ajax wants to try and get back to his feet.

Anjos looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The referee warns Ajax that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Anjos dominating with strikes here.
Anjos tries to control but Ajax wriggling away.
Anjos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Anjos looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ajax is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Anjos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ajax is looking to escape.

Ajax defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Anjos.
Anjos landing strikes from the mount and Ajax is in trouble!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Anjos has control of Ajax's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ajax regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Anjos lands a heavy elbow.
Anjos unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Ajax wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Anjos celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Raul Anjos!
