Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanimir Kurdov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Morris!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Kurdov misses
and Morris cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Kurdov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Morris wants to control but Kurdov is keeping busy.
Morris blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kurdov.
Kurdov missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Morris tries to roll over but Kurdov keeps him under control.
Kurdov throwing shots but Morris is blocking nicely.
Kurdov performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Morris is looking for a sweep. Kurdov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kurdov is trying to control the action in half guard but Morris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kurdov trying to control the pace.
Kurdov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Morris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Morris manages to get to full guard.

Morris is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kurdov is aware though and is defending well.
Kurdov postures up.
Morris manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Kurdov wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Morris.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kurdov wants to control but Morris is having none of it.
Morris tries to control but Kurdov wriggling away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kurdov is trying to escape the mount.
Morris looking to control but Kurdov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morris throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Kurdov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Morris avoids the attempt from Kurdov to control.
Kurdov gets back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kurdov regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kurdov wants to get back to his feet but Morris is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Morris trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurdov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morris trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Kurdov manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kurdov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morris has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Kurdov has passed into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morris can do anything to dispel that myth.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morris tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kurdov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Kurdov trying to control the action but Morris is working from the bottom.
Kurdov creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Morris sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stanimir Kurdov dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Morris avoids the body shot from Kurdov.
Morris steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kurdov.
Kurdov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Morris.
Kurdov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nice shot by Morris.
Morris avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kurdov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Morris avoids it really well and circles away.
A telegraphed right hand from Kurdov misses the target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Morris lands with a nice body punch.
Morris lands a nice hook to Kurdov's body. Kurdov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kurdov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kurdov slips a straight right by Morris.
Morris scores with a sloppy right hand. Kurdov should have avoided that one.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kurdov on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Kurdov throws a lazy uppercut
and Morris counters with a stiff right hand.

Morris lands a left and a right that send Kurdov crashing to the mat, dazed. Morris thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Kurdov is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morris fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Kurdov out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Jake Morris!
After winning the bout, Jake Morris thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
