Mike Johnson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Castro or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad.
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Castro. Castro gets slowly back to his feet.
Castro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Castro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but Castro persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Castro goes for an armbar but Johnson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Johnson.

Castro had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Johnson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Castro Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Johnson's back instead.

Castro has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Johnson is in real trouble here. Castro gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Johnson is tapping out! Castro wins by rear naked choke!
