Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andy Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bear Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter clinches up against the cage.
Stevenson tries to break free but Carter pushes him back against the cage.
Stevenson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Stevenson jumps guard.
Carter postures up in Stevenson's guard and throws a big left but Stevenson blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Carter wanted to stand there but Stevenson had control of the position.

Stevenson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Carter gets to his feet - Stevenson follows without any prompting.

Stevenson stands up from Carter's guard - Stevenson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Stevenson connects with a leg kick. Carter looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stevenson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Carter but Carter pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Carter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stevenson defends it easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Andy Carter will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Carter tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Carter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Andy Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bear Stevenson.

Carter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stevenson wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.

Stevenson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carter was covering up waiting for the punch and Stevenson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Carter has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Stevenson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Carter.
Stevenson is looking to take a break and control but Carter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bear Stevenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

I would just about give that final round to Bear Stevenson.
