Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between JJ Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayson Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnston might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Shackler's Revenge - Guns N Roses. Rodriguez has chosen So Cold by Breaking Benjamin as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jayson Rodriguez!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Johnston.
Rodriguez cracks the inside of Johnston's front leg.

Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rodriguez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Johnston avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Johnston throws a sloppy head kick and Rodriguez moves out of range easily.
That kick from Rodriguez tenderised Johnston's leg. Johnston is trying to keep his angry face on.
Johnston fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Johnston makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Johnston closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rodriguez's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Johnston is stalling in the full guard.

Rodriguez wants to stand and escape. He's got his foot on Johnston's hips, looking to push off. But Johnston grabs a hold of the leg and drops back for an ankle lock! It's hard to tell if he's got it. Both fighters look composed - OH, not anymore they don't! Rodriguez screams like a kid who's trapped his fingers in the car door and taps out! Yikes, that must have hurt - hopefully it's not snapped anything!
