PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Apist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joon Joon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Apist might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mr Boombastic. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oliver Apist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joon Joon!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apist is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Apist tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Joon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Apist throws a head kick that misses.
Apist tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Apist closes the distance but Joon moves to the side

and Joon counters with a shoot takedown. Apist fights it but they end up in guard.
Apist is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Joon is controlling him.
Apist can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Joon controls the pace.
Joon pushes down on Apist's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Apist knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joon on the ground.
Apist pushes Joon off looking to stand but Joon dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joon moves into full mount! Apist won't be happy about that!

That's one minute gone in the round.
BOOM! Joon connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Apist tries to buck Joon off but Joon takes his back!
Apist is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Apist might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Apist trying to get back to his feet but Joon is in full control for now.

Joon is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Apist with him. Apist is trying to defend but Joon has an arm under the chin now! Apist grimaces and is forced to tap out!
