PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thracian Spartacus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spartacus has chosen let the bodies hit the floor as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Bunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thracian Spartacus!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunter lands with an uppercut that bounces Spartacus off the cage and back into range.
Bunter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Spartacus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bunter as he avoids it easily.
Bunter throws a low kick but Spartacus avoids it.
Spartacus tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bunter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spartacus somewhat.
Billy Bunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thracian Spartacus.

Spartacus shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Spartacus throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Spartacus is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Spartacus with the ground and pound but Bunter uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Spartacus throwing strikes from guard but Bunter blocks nicely.
Bunter wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Spartacus manages to pass to side control.
Bunter tries to kick Spartacus off but Spartacus keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spartacus throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Spartacus passes the guard and advances to mount!
Spartacus punching from mount but Bunter doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Spartacus thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Spartacus goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Bunter turns into him and now he's in Spartacus's guard.
Spartacus looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Spartacus kicks Bunter off and gets to his feet.
Spartacus looks for a takedown but Bunter sprawls well.

Spartacus looks winded!
Bunter misses with a double jab.
Thracian Spartacus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Bunter. No joy for Spartacus on that attempt.
Spartacus tries for a takedown but Bunter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Bunter lands with a nice combination. Spartacus backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Thracian Spartacus has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bunter lands a body shot.
Spartacus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Bunter lands a really nice looking cross but Spartacus seems unphased.
Bunter is pawing at Spartacus, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Spartacus's nose. Spartacus is badly hurt! Bunter pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Spartacus tries desperately to hold on but Bunter is relentless in his assault! As Spartacus receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Bunter away and this one is in the books!
