Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Le (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ed Le could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Joe Dirt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ed Le!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Dirt!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Le darts in trying to clinch
enabling Dirt to counter with a crisp jab.
Dirt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Le swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dirt shoots in but Le avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Le walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Le wants to clinch but Dirt slips to the side

and Dirt moves into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Le's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Dirt breaks from the clinch.
Dirt stuffs the takedown.
Le fails with an attempt to clinch.

Le moves into the clinch.

Dirt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dirt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dirt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Le wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dirt shoots in for a takedown but Le shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ed Le has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Dirt.
Dirt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dirt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Le manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Le defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dirt.
Le tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dirt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dirt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Le shoots in looking for a takedown but Dirt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Le's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Le is defended easily by Dirt.

and Dirt counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Le is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Dirt has Le pressed against the cage, preventing Le from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Dirt jumps guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dirt pulls Le in close to his closed guard and prevents Le from doing any damage or advancing position.

Dirt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Le being controlled here momentarily.

Dirt wriggles free and stands up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fight stays on the outside here - Le looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dirt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Le swivels and escapes.
Dirt looks winded!
Dirt fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Le tries to clinch but Dirt moves out of range.

Le moves into the clinch successfully.

Le pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ed Le seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dirt closes the distance and clinches up with Le, looking for a takedown. Dirt pushes Le against the cage but Le circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Le has managed to clinch.
Le lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dirt backwards.
Le is looking for a takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Le - that landed with a thud.

Le has clasped his hands together around Dirt's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dirt wants to control but Le postures up.
Le throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Le throws an elbow but Dirt slips to the side and avoids it well.
Le tries to move to full mount but Dirt actually manages to regain half guard.
Dirt avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Le.
Le thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dirt's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dirt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Le is working away from the top position though.
Le seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ed Le will probably get the nod.
That's time! Le's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ed Le is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Dirt closes the distance and clinches.
Dirt can't get the takedown.

Le using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dirt has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Le scores with a knee to the head.


It looks like Joe Dirt has been cut.

Dirt jumps into guard, dragging Le to the mat.

Dirt is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Le postures up in Dirt's guard and throws a big left but Dirt blocks it.
Le is looking to stand up but Dirt won't let him.
Dirt is breathing heavily.
Dirt avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dirt keeping full guard, as Le tries to pass.
Le would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dirt is looking for a triangle but Le pushes his legs off easily.
Le missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Le throws an elbow that misses. Dirt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Le's guard. Nice move by Dirt!
Dirt stops Le from standing up.
Ed Le overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Le can't keep his opponent in guard - Dirt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dirt in particular looking to stall.
Let's hope that Dirt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Le pushes Dirt off looking to stand but Dirt dives back in and keeps control.
Dirt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dirt has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
