Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Corporal Punishment (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Schmidt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Punishment might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Paint it Black. Corporal Punishment has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Schmidt throws a combination that misses

and Punishment decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Schmidt's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Punishment distracts Schmidt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Schmidt escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Punishment gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Schmidt is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Punishment defends well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Schmidt has his foot on Punishment's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Punishment works his way back into a safe position though.
Punishment wants to control from the top but Schmidt keeps moving.
Punishment stands up over Schmidt, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Schmidt is looking for a triangle here but Punishment uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Schmidt takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Schmidt bucks up and tries to throw Punishment off but instead Punishment has got his back!

Punishment is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Punishment gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Punishment gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Punishment apologises and we restart here on the feet.

After the fight, Corporal Punishment was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
