Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Kidder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lazar Cristi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derrick Kidder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lazar Cristi!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kidder ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cristi moves away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kidder tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cristi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kidder looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kidder works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.


It looks like Lazar Cristi has been cut.
Kidder jabs Cristi to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Cristi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kidder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Cristi moves into the clinch.
Kidder working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Kidder throws a head punch that misses.

Kidder manages to break the clinch.
Cristi fails to land the takedown.
Horrible takedown by Cristi or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidder which made him look bad.

Cristi instigates a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cristi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kidder prevents it.
Derrick Kidder has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lazar Cristi.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Kidder.
Kidder has Cristi pressed against the cage, preventing Cristi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kidder tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Kidder stalling in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kidder.
Kidder has a couple of punches blocked by Cristi.
Cristi misses with a short punch on the inside.
Still in the clinch, Kidder scores with a nice short uppercut.
Kidder lands with a light punch inside.

Kidder's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kidder has managed to clinch.
Kidder throws a punch but it's blocked by Cristi.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Cristi.
Still in the clinch, Kidder scores with a nice short uppercut.
Kidder lands a hook that snaps the head of Cristi backwards.

Kidder breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cristi has Kidder up against the cage in a clinch.
Cristi tries to pull guard but Kidder forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kidder works on Cristi's body with a couple of short punches.
Cristi looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kidder breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kidder wants to clinch up but Cristi keeps it at a distance.
Kidder tries to clinch up but Cristi circles away and keeps his distance.

Kidder moves into range and clinches up with Cristi.
Kidder throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Kidder manages to break the clinch.

Oh, that's a big right hand from Kidder and Cristi goes tumbling to the canvas! Kidder follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Cristi is rocked!
It looks like Kidder is going to stand back up.
Cristi is still in real trouble! Can Kidder finish him?

Kidder decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Cristi seems to have recovered his senses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kidder drives through and clinches with Cristi against the cage.

Kidder's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cristi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kidder steps into range and cracks Cristi with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Cristi flops backwards and Kidder dives into his guard looking to finish!
Kidder has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kidder tries to free his leg and advance position but Cristi is retaining full guard.
Kidder throwing strikes but missing.
Kidder tries to stand but Cristi is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kidder trying to control the position from guard on top but Cristi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cristi kicks Kidder off and gets to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kidder escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kidder has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cristi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kidder fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cristi is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kidder is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Cristi.
Kidder smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
A punch combination from Cristi misses.

Kidder has closed the distance and engaged Cristi in a clinch.
A short uppercut from Kidder.
Kidder lands a body shot in the clinch.

Kidder breaks the clinch.

Kidder drops Cristi with a right and a left! Kidder comes rushing in but Cristi regains his composure and manages to keep Kidder in guard.
Kidder might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kidder wants to get up but he can't break Cristi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Derrick Kidder dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lazar Cristi's cut.
That's time! Kidder's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Kidder instigates a clinch.

Cristi drags the fight down to the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kidder accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cristi scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kidder lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Kidder fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Cristi to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Cristi looks to clinch but Kidder throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Cristi taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Derrick Kidder!
Derrick Kidder decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
