PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Mot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glen Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mot comes to the cage accompanied by Be Aggresive by Faith No More. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Tom Mot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mot throws a nice outside leg kick.
Starner on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Starner swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Starner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mot was well out of range. Poor timing from Starner.
Mot tries to work over Starner's front leg with a kick but Starner checks it.
Mot slips a jab and a cross from Starner.
Starner throws a hook but Mot blocks it.
Mot jabs Starner right on the nose. Starner blinks but takes it well.
Mot lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mot ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Starner checks a low kick from Mot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Starner gets the takedown into side control.
Starner tries to score with some ground and pound. Mot controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Starner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mot is not content to let Starner control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Starner throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Mot works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mot wants to improve his position but Starner is controlling well.
Starner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mot's head.
Mot is staying active underneath Starner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Starner missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Mot looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Starner is looking for a kimura here.
Mot is looking for a sweep. Starner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Starner is looking to take a break and control but Mot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mot is looking to improve his position.
Starner not doing much here.
Starner drops an elbow to the side of Mot's head.
Mot is not content to let Starner control the position.
Mot works his way to full guard. Good work.

Mot lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Starner!
Mot lands a nice shot to the head.
Starner takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Starner is looking to improve his position but Mot isn't that keen on the idea.
Starner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mot looking to control but Starner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Mot scoring with strikes but Starner is staying in there.

Mot fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Mot! Starner is hurt baaadly! Mot is firing away with more strikes - Starner is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom Mot!
Post fight, an emotional Tom Mot said 'YEEEEAH that feels better....'.
