PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dusty Adamek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magnus Aconte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adamek turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Aconte doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Adamek decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Aconte's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Adamek is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Adamek postures up in Aconte's guard and throws a big left but Aconte blocks it.
Adamek has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Aconte working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adamek doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adamek manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Adamek accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Aconte had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Adamek defends it easily.

Aconte is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Aconte is looking for a kimura but Adamek is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aconte to get the leverage.

Aconte is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Adamek regains full guard. Nicely done.
Aconte throws an elbow that misses. Adamek uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Aconte's guard. Nice move by Adamek!

Aconte is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Adamek frees his head nicely. Oh but Aconte has switched to an armbar! Adamek is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
