Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fabiano Contreiras!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Silva!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Contreiras circles away.
Contreiras swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Silva wants to clinch.
Contreiras keeps the fight on the outside.
Contreiras misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Contreiras.
Contreiras walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Silva checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Contreiras looks for a takedown but Silva sprawls well.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Contreiras as he jumps to the side.

Contreiras circles away from the clinch attempt.
Contreiras shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.
Contreiras shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Contreiras's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Contreiras wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Contreiras has double underhooks.
Silva trying to control the position but instead, Contreiras has worked for underhooks and has pushed Silva into the cage.
Contreiras wants to break the clinch but can't.
Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silva has closed the distance and engaged Contreiras in a clinch.
Silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Contreiras gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Silva looks winded!

Contreiras is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Contreiras thows a body shot but no joy.
Contreiras tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Contreiras shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Silva defends it nicely.
Silva has Contreiras up against the cage in a clinch.
Contreiras tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Silva breaks from the clinch.
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Contreiras manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Contreiras lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Contreiras fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Contreiras shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.
Silva is looking to clinch but Contreiras is avoiding it.
Contreiras feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Contreiras stops Silva from standing up.

Contreiras wants to stand but Silva has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fabiano Contreiras wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Silva tries to clinch there but Contreiras circles away.
Contreiras shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Contreiras throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Contreiras's corner is telling him to maintain position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva wants to stand but Contreiras is controlling the position.
Silva is trying to keep Contreiras in close.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Fabiano Contreiras will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Contreiras fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Contreiras is now in Silva's guard.
Contreiras trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Contreiras is really struggling to control Silva but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Silva wants to stand and escape but Contreiras is having none of it.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but Contreiras passes into half guard.
Contreiras missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Contreiras thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Silva's head.
Contreiras is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Contreiras is thwarting Silva's attempts to control the position.
Contreiras seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Contreiras is working for a submission of some sort.

Contreiras seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.
Contreiras is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Contreiras is trying to work for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
Silva is defending against the submission attempts here by Contreiras.
Contreiras lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Contreiras looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Silva is staying active underneath Contreiras, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Contreiras passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Silva!
Silva tries to lock up and control but Contreiras gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Silva is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Contreiras looking to control but Silva is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Contreiras working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Silva turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Contreiras off and cradles Silva's limp body as Contreiras celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Fabiano Contreiras!
