PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kota Kamiya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Wu Tang - Triumph. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kota Kamiya!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Kamiya lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kamiya misses with a looping right.
Jackson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kamiya connects with a body shot that sends Jackson's belly button to the back.
Both fighters circling a little - Kamiya finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Kamiya scores with a decent looking hook.
Jackson blocks a jab.
Kamiya moves out of range of the strikes.
Jackson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Jackson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jackson takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Jackson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kamiya asserts his dominance and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kamiya throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kamiya is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kamiya feints and as Jackson raises his hands in defense, Kamiya changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kamiya drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kamiya has Jackson in his guard.

Kamiya looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jackson has picked Kamiya up and slammed him! Kamiya can't keep hold of the triangle and Jackson manages to pass to side control!
Kamiya takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jackson cracks Kamiya with a big right hand but Kamiya just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

I would just about give that final round to Kota Kamiya.
Well Kamiya has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
