The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bucket misses with a body kick.
Palermo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Palermo lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Bucket tries a head kick but it misses.

Palermo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Buckets jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Palermo lands with a nice body punch.

Palermo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bucket throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Palermo stalks Bucket and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bucket's face. Bucket staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like Barny Bucket has been cut.

Bucket throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bucket throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Palermo.
Bucket throws a low kick but Palermo moves out of range easily.
Barny Bucket is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bucket throws a half hearted mid kick.

Vinny Palermo dominated that round.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Palermo cracks Bucket with a right hand to the side of the head.
Bucket misses with a two punch combination.
Bucket has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Bucket takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Palermo throws a leg kick
and Bucket counters with a head kick that drops Palermo to the mat! Palermo scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Palermo is rocked!

Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Bucket! This one is all over!
