Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Markov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Imma Armoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Imma Armoff is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Maxim Markov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Imma Armoff!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markov gets a double leg takedown into Armoff's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Markov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Markov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Armoff escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Markov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Armoff not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Armoff wants to sweep here but Markov controlling him for the moment.
Markov wants to control from the top but Armoff keeps moving.
Armoff has momentary wrist control but Markov slips an elbow through the middle.

Markov drops back looking for a leg! Armoff is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Armoff manages to kick Markov off! Markov jumps back into Armoff's guard.
Markov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Armoff swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Markov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Markov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Armoff looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Markov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Armoff manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Markov has Armoff in his guard.

Armoff avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Markov has hold of Armoff's hands but Armoff slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Armoff seems to be looking for submissions.
Markov is looking to control Armoff's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Markov avoid being mounted?

Armoff is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Armoff seems to be working for a kimura but Markov defends the submission attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Armoff working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Markov's head.
Markov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Armoff!
Markov has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Armoff's face.
Markov trying to control but Armoff is having none of it.
Markov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Armoff is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Markov is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Armoff is surviving well by controlling Markov's body position as best he can.

Markov has control of Armoff's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Armoff regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Armoff slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Armoff is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Markov looks to land a body kick but Armoff moved away.

Armoff looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Markov!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Markov is wriggling around trying to escape.
Armoff won't let Markov get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Markov slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Armoff is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Markov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Markov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Armoff drives through with a takedown into guard.

Armoff makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Markov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Armoff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Armoff manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Markov is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Armoff is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
