Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Adam Hopkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cashel Redmond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redmond has chosen My Life as his entrance music. Adam Hopkins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Hopkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cashel Redmond!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins lands with a right hand.
Redmond avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hopkins instigates a clinch.

Redmond drags the fight down to the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Redmond trying to control the position.

Hopkins is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Redmond is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Redmond has escaped and now he's on top!

Hopkins has his foot on Redmond's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Redmond works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Redmond is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hopkins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hopkins is not content to let Redmond control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cashel Redmond dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hopkins tries a head kick but it misses.
Redmond shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hopkins as he jumps to the side.

Redmond shoots for a takedown but Hopkins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hopkins avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Redmond.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hopkins is trying to get back to full guard.

Redmond stands up from Hopkins's guard - Redmond perhaps looking for a knockout.

Hopkins gets a clinch.
Hopkins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Redmond is trying to pull guard but Hopkins turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Hopkins wants to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cashel Redmond showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Redmond shoots in but no luck this time.
Good work by Redmond as he checks the leg kick.

Redmond feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hopkins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Redmond's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Redmond's back!

Redmond is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hopkins slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Redmond is pushing down on Hopkins's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hopkins is fighting to maintain full guard but Redmond has managed to sneak the leg through.

Redmond is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hopkins has managed to free his arm - good work.
Redmond is controlling the pace.

Redmond seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hopkins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hopkins looks like he's trying to stand up.
Redmond is pressing down on Hopkins's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hopkins is holding on for now.

Redmond is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hopkins sees it coming and defends easily.

After the fight, Cashel Redmond was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
