Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cole Elliot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Zapp!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zapp closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Zapp is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Elliot has escaped the position, nice work there.
Elliot is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Zapp's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Elliot slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Zapp has eaten all the pies!

Elliot working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zapp doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zapp manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Elliot has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zapp can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Elliot keeping moving, preventing Zapp from controlling successfully.
Zapp is looking to work some ground and pound but Elliot has wrist control.

Elliot looking to control.
Elliot will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Elliot looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Zapp trying to control but Elliot is working from the bottom.

Elliot working for a triangle but Zapp defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elliot keeping moving, preventing Zapp from controlling successfully.
Elliot looking for a sweep. Not yet Elliot, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Elliot is trying to keep Zapp in close.
Zapp tries to free his leg and advance position but Elliot is retaining full guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Elliot working for a triangle but Zapp defends it easily.

Elliot looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Zapp has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Elliot to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Zapp is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Elliot pulls down on the head and he's put Zapp to sleep! This one is all over!
