Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Craig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Craig!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz clobbers Craig with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Craig throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Craig throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Craig clinches.
Craig's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Craig misses with a hook to the ribs.

Craig's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Craig moves away.
Diaz connects with the punch.
Craig is looking to clinch.
Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Craig moves away.
Craig thows a body kick. Diaz tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Craig drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Craig advances nicely into full mount.

Craig tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Craig wants to control the pace but Diaz is squirming around nicely.
Diaz keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Craig stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Diaz scores with a decent looking hook.
Craig swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Craig shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Diaz but Diaz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Craig clinches.

Diaz lands a body shot in the clinch.
Craig prevents a body shot from Diaz.

Craig drags the fight down to the ground.
Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Craig is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Craig thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Craig keeping moving, preventing Diaz from controlling successfully.
Craig utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz won't allow Craig to get back to his feet.
Diaz wants to pass the guard but Craig is keeping the position.

Craig wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nick Diaz.
Craig throws a left and a right that both miss
and Diaz counters with a nice body shot.
Diaz feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Craigs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Diaz, as that shot connected.
Diaz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Diaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Diaz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Craig ducks right into an uppercut from Diaz.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Diaz loads up on a big right hand but Craig slips the punch.
Craig stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Craig wants it to stay on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Craig doesn't manage to clinch there - Diaz circles away.
Nice shot lands for Diaz.
Diaz misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Craig counters by clinching up.
Craig misses with a shot to the kidneys.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Diaz tries to stall but Craig uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Craig utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Craig has had enough of the clinch but Diaz keeps him there for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nick Diaz will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Diaz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Craig moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nick Diaz is winning the standup battle so far.
Craig takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Craig clinches with his opponent.
Diaz misses with the head strike.
Diaz is working Craig over against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Diaz misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Craig is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Diaz is defending well.
Diaz tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Diaz tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Diaz is looking to control Craig's arms but Craig gets an underhook and turns him. Now Diaz has his back to the cage.
Craig wants a takedown.
Craig jumps guard but Diaz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Nick Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simon Craig.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Craig is working for takedown but Diaz is calmly controlling the position for now.
Craig takes a shot to the head.
Craig blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Craig wants the takedown. Diaz is fighting it off but Craig persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Diaz's guard against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Craig closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Diaz won't allow Craig to pass to mount.
Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Craig is working away from the top position though.
Craig content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Craig wants to stand but Diaz has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Diaz is refusing to be controlled, as Craig sits in half guard.
Simon Craig has got the better of the ground game so far.

Simon Craig has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Diaz connects with a body shot.
Diaz lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Craig keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Diaz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz lands the left hand.
Diaz looks to throw the jab but Craig is out of range.
Nick Diaz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Craig shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Craig keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Craig shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Simon Craig will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Craig decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Craig perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Craig is trying to control the action in half guard but Diaz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Craig tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Diaz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Diaz lands with a nice body punch.
Diaz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Craig.

Craig tries to move into full mount but can't pass Diaz's legs.

Craig tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Craig takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaz tries to buck Craig off but Craig is having none of it.
Craig staying calm.

Craig wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Diaz, who protects the arm well.
Diaz tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Craig presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Diaz regains half guard.

Craig trying to control the pace.
Craig's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Diaz tries to get to full guard but Craig has control of the leg.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
