PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mister Spock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Spock might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rolling Stones- 2000 Light Years. Connor has chosen Ça vaut mieux que d'attraper la scarlatine by Ray Venture as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

John Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Spock stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Connor thuds his right hand into Spock's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Connor tests Spock's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Connor darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mister Spock is winning the standup battle so far.
No joy there for Connor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Connor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Connor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Spock was covering up waiting for the punch and Connor finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Connor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mister Spock.
