Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damo Dustup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marec Thims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thims has chosen Lamb of god, Rednck as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damo Dustup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marec Thims!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dustup has his takedown stuffed
and Thims makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Dustup shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Thims fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Thims keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dustup.

Thims feints and as Dustup raises his hands in defense, Thims changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Dustup is working an open guard so Thims takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dustup throws out a loose jab but Thims uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dustup gets caught flat footed, as Thims shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Thims stopping the sweep attempt from Dustup.
Thims trying to control the position from guard on top but Dustup is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Thims stands and steps away. Dustup gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Thims shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dustup but Dustup pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dustup lands a really nice looking cross but Thims seems unphased.

Dustup has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Thims.

Thims closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dustup wants to break free but Thims has control.
Thims is trying to drag Dustup to the mat but Dustup just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Damo Dustup has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marec Thims.
Dustup can't break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thims is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Thims's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dustup lands with a hook. Thims tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Thims ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Dustup misses with a series of wild punches.
Dustup bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Thims's head backwards.
Dustup loads up on a big right hand but Thims slips the punch.
Dustup shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thims as he jumps to the side.
Dustup connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Thims's hands.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Dustup or perhaps it was just good defense by Thims which made him look bad.
Thims moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Thims clinches up with Dustup and pushes him back against the cage.

Thims gets control of Dustup's arms and successfully pulls guard. Thims will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Thims had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dustup defends it easily.
Dustup throwing strikes from guard but Thims blocks nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dustup is working Thims over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Dustup has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dustup cracks Thims with a solid left hand.

Thims has his foot on Dustup's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dustup works his way back into a safe position though.
Dustup wants to stand and escape but instead Thims has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Thims trying to control the position from guard on top but Dustup is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dustup has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Thims has passed into side control.
Dustup wants to control but Thims postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dustup is trying to work for a sweep but Thims has mounted him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thims wants to control the pace but Dustup is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Damo Dustup will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Thims has a takedown stuffed.
Thims avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Thims shoots in for a takedown but Dustup shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Thims takes one to the chin there.
Dustup misses with a looping right.
Dustup is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Dustup fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dustup throws a shot from downtown. Thims moves away and avoids it.
Thims throws a right hand that Dustup ducks under and follows up with a left that Dustup also avoids with ease.
Thims showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dustup.
No joy there for Dustup, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thims shoots in looking for a takedown but Dustup manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thims's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Damo Dustup has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marec Thims.

Thims gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Dustup looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Thims ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Thims no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Dustup is posturing up here but Thims has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Dustup tries to roll out but it's too tight and Dustup has to tap! Slick submission there by Thims!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marec Thims!
An out of breath Marec Thims thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
