PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifton Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chico Mulato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mulato's choice of entrance music: Run to hills. Chico Mulato will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clifton Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chico Mulato!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snow misses with a wild combination.
Mulato slips a jab and a cross from Snow.

Mulato connects with a body shot that sends Snow's belly button to the back.
Snow is breathing heavily.

Mulato shoots in but Snow avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Clifton Snow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chico Mulato.
Mulato changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Snow tries to avoid it but Mulato manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Snow to the ground. Snow escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mulato tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Snow paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Snow throws a nice looking combination but Mulato bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mulato swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Snow defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mulato.
Snow lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mulato circles away quickly and effectively.

It looks like Clifton Snow has been cut.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Snow got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mulato has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Snow has managed to get both his arms back between Mulato's legs - danger averted.

Mulato has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Snow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Snow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mulato swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mulato is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Snow stands up over Mulato, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Mulato looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Snow is fending him off so far but Mulato persists. Nope, Snow circles away and we're back to standing.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Snow looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Mulato is pressed up against the cage. Snow has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mulato down to the mat. Mulato avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Snow gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mulato is working for a kimura but Snow is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mulato has hold of Snow's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Snow manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Mulato wants to control the pace but Snow is squirming around nicely.
Snow tries to buck Mulato off but he can't manage it.

Mulato sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mulato throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Snow because Mulato loaded up on that one.
Clifton Snow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chico Mulato is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Snow is squirming around, avoiding Mulato's attempts to control the action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Chico Mulato comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mulato has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
