PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Bukovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrik Kallio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bukovsky comes to the cage accompanied by Donatan, Petez, Gural, Pih - Budź się. Kallio has chosen Unida - If Only Two as his entrance music. Henrik Kallio struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Henrik Kallio has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Bukovsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Henrik Kallio!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Phil Schofield and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kallio closes the distance looking to clinch
and Bukovsky counters with a left to the body.

enabling Bukovsky to counter with a crisp jab.

Bukovsky is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kallio is just riding it out for now. Bukovsky eventually gives up the hold.
Bukovsky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bukovsky drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kallio looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kallio looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kallio!

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bukovsky lands a nice short elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bukovsky connects with a nice short shot to Kallio's temple.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bukovsky is working for a kimura here but Kallio manages to reverse the position and he's now in Bukovsky's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bukovsky has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kallio can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bukovsky is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kallio doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bukovsky.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bukovsky cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Bukovsky throws a hook but Kallio blocks it.

Bukovsky throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kallio sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kallio is still on wobbly legs! Can Bukovsky finish him?
Kallio looks to clinch
and Bukovsky rattles Kallio with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Kallio tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Bukovsky dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Kallio stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tommy Bukovsky!
Tommy Bukovsky decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
