The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is looking to clinch.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Gentles sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones wants to clinch up but Gentles keeps it at a distance.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Gentles circles away.

Jones forces Gentles back against the cage and clinches.
Gentles will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jones up against the cage.

Gentles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gentles throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
No joy there for Gentles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Gentles rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jones gets a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gentles lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Jones jumps guard.

Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gentles stopping the sweep attempt from Jones.
Gentles keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gentles is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gentles's back instead.
Gentles covering up well under a barage of strikes.

Jones is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Gentles won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Jones off his unconscious opponent!
