The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ausland shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Petrov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ausland tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Petrov regains half guard, as Ausland was trying to land strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ausland really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petrov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Petrov has momentary wrist control but Ausland slips an elbow through the middle.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ausland can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ausland is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Petrov is controlling him.
