Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mamed Khalidov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Hamish Gaffney!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidov dodges the punch combination from Gaffney.
Khalidov with a lazy takedown attempt
and Gaffney counters with a left and a right that stings Khalidov.
Khalidov dives in and grabs Gaffney's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gaffney pushes down on Khalidov's head and hops out.
Gaffney feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Khalidovs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Khalidov tries for a takedown but Gaffney circles away easily
and Gaffney counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mamed Khalidov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Khalidov with a poor takedown
and Gaffney counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gaffney throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Khalidov doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gaffney counters with a nice low kick that buckles Khalidov's knee momentarily.
Khalidov is breathing heavily.
Gaffney throws a one two combo.
It looks like Mamed Khalidov has been cut.
Gaffney scores with a hook to the body. Khalidov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Khalidov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Khalidov misses with a takedown attempt
and Gaffney counters with a series of strikes. Khalidov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Gaffney tried to score with a low kick but Khalidov checks it.
Khalidov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Khalidov fails with the takedown
and Gaffney counters with a left right combination that sends Khalidov crashing to the mat - Gaffney wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Khalidov out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
