And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Becker circles away from the clinch attempt
and Becker counters with a straight right hand.
Akylbekov tries to grapple but his opponent circles

so Becker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Akylbekov wants to get back to his feet but Becker passes into half guard.
Becker working Akylbekov over with strikes.
Akylbekov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Becker controlling the pace.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Becker stands up out of the half guard.

Akylbekov throws a head kick that misses.
Akylbekov tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Becker counters with a one-two to the body.
Akylbekov tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Becker counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Becker looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Akylbekov is working an open guard so Becker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Becker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Akylbekov throws a looping overhand right but Becker ducks down to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Becker looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Akylbekov!
Becker raining down shots from the mount!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Becker is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Akylbekov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Becker scores with a couple of good head shots there.


Akylbekov is rocked!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Becker looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Akylbekov is still in real trouble! Can Becker finish him?
Becker scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Akylbekov has left one of his arms exposed and Becker doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Akylbekov screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
