The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roy looks to score with a jab to the body but Styles is just out of range.

Roy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Styles tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Roy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Roy connects with a nice short shot to Styles's temple.

Derric Styles's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
