Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Sypher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Beaver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Matthew Beaver enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Daniel Sypher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matthew Beaver!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beaver is looking to clinch.

Beaver throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sypher was covering up waiting for the punch and Beaver finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Beaver throws an elbow that misses. Sypher uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Beaver's guard. Nice move by Sypher!

Sypher tries to free his leg and advance position but Beaver is retaining full guard.
Sypher wants to control from the top but Beaver keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Daniel Sypher just wasn't active enough.

You can see the frustration on Sypher's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Beaver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sypher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sypher tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Beaver swivels and escapes.

Sypher jumps into guard, dragging Beaver to the mat.
Beaver won't allow Sypher to get back to his feet.
Beaver pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sypher is keeping the position for now.

Beaver throws a strike but Sypher rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sypher is fighting to break Beaver's control of his arms but Beaver is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Beaver is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sypher defends well.

Sypher stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Sypher throws the kick towards the body but Beaver avoids it.
Sypher shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beaver as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Sypher. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sypher closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sypher is keen to just control but Beaver is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Beaver manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Beaver is breathing heavily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sypher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beaver has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sypher has managed to get both his arms back between Beaver's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Sypher will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Beaver has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sypher after a bit of a struggle.
Sypher has Beaver pressed against the cage.
Beaver is looking to take this one to the mat.

Sypher gets underhooks to prevent Beaver's takedown attempt.

Beaver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sypher swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Beaver is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sypher pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Beaver is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sypher gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Sypher gets control of Beaver's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sypher will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sypher throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beaver's waist but Beaver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sypher off to one side.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Beaver shoots in but Sypher avoids the takedown attempt easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sypher motions for Beaver to come forward. Sypher throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

And that's the end of the fight!
Daniel Sypher showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Sypher has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Daniel Sypher decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
