Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Priest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Gleiser!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gleiser looks for a takedown but Priest sprawls well.
Gleiser shoots in looking for a takedown. Priest tries to sprawl out of it but Gleiser keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Priest manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Priest attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Gleiser misses with a takedown attempt - Priest sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnny Priest has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Gleiser.
Gleiser on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gleiser throws a right hand that Priest ducks under and follows up with a left that Priest also avoids with ease.
Gleiser tries to score a power double leg takedown but Priest sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gleiser somewhat.
Gleiser shoots for a double leg takedown but Priest sprawls well. He's pushed Gleiser's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gleiser gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Michael Gleiser has been cut.
Gleiser will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Priest lands a big head kick that sends Gleiser tumbling to the mat! Priest takes a step backwards and waves Gleiser back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Gleiser is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Priest throws a pinpoint strike between Gleiser's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Gleiser crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Priest scores a great knockout victory!
