The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rifle fails with an attempt to clinch.
Herculus lands the left hand.
Herculus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rifle.
Herculus lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Sniper Rifle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rifle takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

A jab from Herculus does it's job there.
Herculus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Herculus looks to land a combination but Rifle avoids it well.

Rifle drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rifle throws an elbow that misses. Herculus uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rifle's guard. Nice move by Herculus!
Herculus wants to control from the top but Rifle keeps moving.

Rifle is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Herculus defends well.
Rifle might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rifle wants to hit a switch here but Herculus passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rifle there!

Rifle tries to escape but Herculus is in control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Herculus controlling the position from side mount.
Rifle is not content to let Herculus control the position.
Herculus with the ground and pound but Rifle regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Rifle wants to get back to full guard.

Rifle moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Herculus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rifle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Herculus trying to control the position from guard on top but Rifle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Laz Herculus wasn't active enough on the ground.
Herculus lands with a cross.
Herculus lands with a right hand.
Rifle shoots in but Herculus avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Herculus. Rifle does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rifle avoids the body shot from Herculus.
Rifle slips a straight right by Herculus.
Herculus scores with a jab to the jaw.

Rifle gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Herculus is trying to break the clinch but Rifle has him pressed against the cage.

Herculus escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rifle throws a combination that misses
and Herculus counters with a stiff right hand.
Herculus slaps away a takedown attempt from Rifle, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sniper Rifle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Herculus connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rifle on the wrong end of a nice jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laz Herculus dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Herculus is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Rifle lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Herculus is bucking up trying to escape but Rifle cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Rifle lands a big elbow - Herculus is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Herculus is forced to tap out!
