PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yujigato Kimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watts is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Breaking Benjaim- I waill not Bow. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yujigato Kimo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zach Watts!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimo throws a head kick but Watts moves out of range.

Kimo has Watts up against the cage in a clinch.
Watts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Watts is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kimo is defending well.
Watts goes for a takedown attempt but Kimo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Watts tries to sprawl but Kimo drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Watts is staying active underneath Kimo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kimo is thwarting Watts's attempts to control the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kimo in particular looking to stall.

Watts has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Kimo escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Kimo!

Watts wants to control but Kimo postures up.
Watts is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Watts gets back to half guard.
Watts is trying to get back to full guard.
Kimo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Watts on the ground.

Kimo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Watts defends it well.
Watts tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kimo has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Watts keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kimo looking to control but Watts is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Watts is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kimo lands a big shot there that rocks Watts but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Watts is trying to escape the mount.
Kimo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Watts?

Kimo avoids the attempt from Watts to control.

Kimo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Watts can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Watts is trying to escape the mount.
Kimo controlling from mount.
Watts is trying desperately to improve position.

Watts gets back to half guard.
Kimo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Kimo trying to pass the guard but Watts defending well.

Kimo is trying to work for a kimura but Watts is defending well.
Watts gets back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kimo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Watts has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kimo has managed to get both his arms back between Watts's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yujigato Kimo dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Watts is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Yujigato Kimo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kimo wanted to stand there but Watts had control of the position.

Kimo trying to control but Watts is working from the bottom.

Watts has his foot on Kimo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kimo works his way back into a safe position though.

Watts is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kimo is aware though and is defending well.
Watts is breathing heavily.
Kimo sitting in guard here, content to control.
Kimo preventing the sweep.
Watts controls Kimo momentarily but Kimo frees himself.
Watts manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Kimo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Watts stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Watts misses with a double jab.
Kimo throws a sloppy head kick and Watts moves out of range easily.
Kimo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Watts fails to land the takedown.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kimo tries a head kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Watts closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kimo circles away.
Crunch! Kimo slams his shin into Watts's torso.

Kimo gets the takedown into side control.
Kimo has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Watts working to try and regain half guard.
Kimo tries to control but Watts wriggling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Watts is looking to get to half guard.
Kimo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Watts tries to hold on but Kimo postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Watts is squirming around, avoiding Kimo's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Yujigato Kimo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Watts looking for a triangle here. Kimo is fighting it but it looks tight! Watts pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kimo is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Zach Watts!
In his post fight interview, Zach Watts started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
