Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sakura Kazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sakura Kazu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jens Pulver!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulver shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kazu swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Pulver counters by clinching up.

Pulver's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kazu throws a body punch but Pulver moves out of range.
Pulver fails to land with a series of punches.
Sakura Kazu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kazu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pulver.
Pulver scores with a spinning back kick!
Pulver looks to land a body kick but Kazu moved away.
Kazu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pulver.
Sakura Kazu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jens Pulver.
Kazu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pulver walks into a stiff left hand from Kazu.

Kazu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pulver uses from the top position.

Pulver gets to his feet. Kazu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Pulver ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Pulver shoots for a takedown but Kazu saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Pulver counters with a good, hard body kick but Kazu shrugs it off.
Kazu's corner calls for a 1-2. Kazu obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Pulver uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kazu.
Kazu shoots for a takedown but Pulver saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

A swing and a miss from Kazu.
Nice defenses there by Pulver.

Pulver would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pulver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kazu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Pulver stands and steps away. Kazu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Pulver is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kazu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kazu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pulver was well out of range. Poor timing from Kazu.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pulver has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kazu off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No joy there for Kazu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jens Pulver dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kazu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sakura Kazu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pulver keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kazu closes the distance and clinches up with Pulver, looking for a takedown. Kazu pushes Pulver against the cage but Pulver circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pulver avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pulver shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kazu makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Pulver really felt that one!
Kazu throws a poor cross that misses
and Pulver counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Pulver pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kazu back to the cage. Pulver follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Pulver connects with a knee to the head.
Pulver lands an elbow just above Kazu 's eye.
Pulver wants a takedown.

Kazu is trying to force a seperation but Pulver has the dominant position.

Pulver lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Pulver is working for takedown but Kazu is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sakura Kazu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jens Pulver.

Pulver jumps guard and drags Kazu to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Pulver escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kazu gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Pulver wants to stand but Kazu is controlling the position.
Pulver keeping moving, preventing Kazu from controlling successfully.
Kazuis looking to pass into half guard but Pulver pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Pulver is in guard.

Kazu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pulver stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Pulver drives through and clinches with Kazu against the cage.
Kazu wants to take the fight to the mat but Pulver manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Pulver has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kazu is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Pulver breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kazu throws a head kick that misses
and Pulver counters with a right hand to the body.
Kazu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pulver's waist but Pulver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kazu off to one side.

Pulver shoots in for a takedown but Kazu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kazu looks to land a combination but Pulver avoids it well.

and Pulver counters with a left to the body.
Pulver blocks the body kick.
Kazu throws a jab when Pulver was well out of range.
Jens Pulver seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jens Pulver showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Pulver lands with a kick to the temple. Kazu shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kazu.

Pulver has managed to clinch.

Pulver breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kazu throws a body kick that misses
and Pulver counters with a big head kick but Kazu shrugs it off.
Kazu walks forward, straight into a front kick from Pulver.

Pulver moves into the clinch.
Kazu is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Pulver is defending well.
Jens Pulver seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Kazu tries for a takedown. No joy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pulver drags the fight down to the ground.

Pulver pushes Kazu off and gets back to his feet.

Pulver fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kazu avoids it really well and circles away.

Kazu throws a left and a right that both miss

and Pulver counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pulver.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kazu tries to roll over but Pulver keeps him under control.
Kazu has a hand on Pulver's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Pulver takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Kazu is desperately trying to improve his position but Pulver has a good base and remains in mount.

Jens Pulver has got the better of the ground game so far.
Pulver is landing with some decent strikes but Kazu is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jens Pulver comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pulver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
