Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ramond Splert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mario Carvalho!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carvalho shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Splert is trying to control but can't.
Carvalho is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Splert wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Splert won't allow Carvalho to pass to mount.

Carvalho is looking for a kimura but Splert is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Carvalho to get the leverage.

Carvalho is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Carvalho is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Splert sees it coming and defends easily.

Carvalho lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Splert is trying to stand back up but Carvalho is controlling him

Splert is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carvalho looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Splert wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mario Carvalho dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Carvalho stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carvalho wants it to stay on the feet.
Carvalho takes a swing at Splert's ribcage but misses.
Splert throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ramond Splert is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carvalho shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Carvalho closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Carvalho is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Carvalho thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Splert's head.
Carvalho looks to land a strike but Splert avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Carvalho pushes down on Splert's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Carvalho seems to be looking for submissions.

Carvalho wants to work for an arm triangle but Splert is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carvalho is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Splert has managed to free his arm - good work.
Carvalho is controlling the pace.
Carvalho has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Splert is bucking up trying to escape but Carvalho cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Splert slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Splert blocking the ground and pound attempt from Carvalho.

Carvalho is working for a submission of some sort.
Carvalho wants to lay and pray for a moment but Splert keeps working.

Carvalho is trying for a kimura here. Splert looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Carvalho wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mario Carvalho!
