With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Norman Hartnell!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartnell cracks Opal with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hartnell stuffs the takedown attempt from Opal. Opal gets slowly back to his feet.

Opal takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Hartnell misses with a wild combination.
Hartnell tests Opal's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Opal shoots for a takedown but Hartnell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Opal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hartnell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Opal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hartnell pinned against the cage. Hartnell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hartnell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Opal backs up against the cage.

Opal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hartnell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hartnell lands with a straight right. Opal didn't see that one coming.
Hartnell is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Opal had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Hartnell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hartnell lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Opal fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hartnell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Opal moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Norman Hartnell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hartnell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Hartnell slaps away a takedown attempt from Opal, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hartnell misses with a few strikes there.
Hartnell lands a nice shot that snaps Opal's head back.

and Opal counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Opal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hartnell works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Hartnell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Opal off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Hartnell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Hartnell. No joy for Opal on that attempt.

Horrible takedown by Opal or perhaps it was just good defense by Hartnell which made him look bad.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Norman Hartnell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Opal changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hartnell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Opal wants to control but Hartnell is keeping him busy.
Hartnell prevents Opal from moving into mount.

Hartnell is looking to reverse the position.
Hartnell can't do much from the bottom here.

Opal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Opal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hartnell is trying to control Opal's posture but Opal avoids it.

Hartnell bucks up and tries to throw Opal off but instead Opal has got his back!
Hartnell prevents Opal from getting a body triangle.
Opal doesn't have the hooks in and Hartnell manages to turn into his guard.

Hartnell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Opal, up you get!
Opal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hartnell swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Opal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hartnell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Opal somewhat.

and Hartnell counters with a left and a right that stings Opal.
Opal wants to clinch
and Hartnell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hartnell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Opal takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Opal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hartnell throws a combination. Opal tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Opal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hartnell circles away.

I've got Hartnell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
