Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mitch Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafael Fox!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fox throws a low kick but Wilson moves out of range easily.
Fox throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fox off to one side.
Fox cracks Wilson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Fox ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Fox lands a jab to Wilson's midsection.
Wilson shoots in but no luck this time.
Fox scores with a shot to the body.
Fox fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fox looks to land a combination. Wilson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Fox stuffs the takedown attempt from Wilson. Wilson gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Rafael Fox wasn't active enough on the ground.
Wilson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd cheers as Fox lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wilson doesn't seem phased though.
Rafael Fox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wilson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fox somewhat.

Fox closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wilson did well to prevent Fox getting side control.

Fox is looking to stall here but Wilson recovers full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fox seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fox cracks a nice hook into Wilson's ribs.
Fox fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Wilson is out of range.

and Wilson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fox's guard.
Mitch Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafael Fox.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wilson gets to his feet. Fox looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Fox scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wilson doesn't seem bothered though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fox closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wilson's guard.

Fox drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wilson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wilson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wilson!

Rafael Fox dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilson connects with a nice short shot to Fox's temple.

Wilson is nestled in close to Fox, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
