The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Lewis thows a left - swing and a miss!

Garboza misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lewis.
Lewis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Garboza can pounce on him.

Jose Garboza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Garboza drops his shoulder and cracks Lewis with a huge uppercut! Lewis goes down! Can Garboza finish him?

It looks like Montee Lewis has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lewis keeping moving, preventing Garboza from controlling successfully.

Garboza tries to stand but Lewis is controlling from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Garboza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lewis wants to get back to his feet but Garboza is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Lewis pushes Garboza off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lewis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Garboza is out of range and Lewis settles back down.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Garboza. Lewis shrugs it off though.
Garboza pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Garboza lands a big head kick that sends Lewis to the canvas! Garboza follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
