The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dowe misses with a lunging right hand
and Montes counters with a left to the body.
Dowe throws a lazy uppercut
letting Montes counter with a right hand.

Montes looks to land a combination. Dowe sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Dowe pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Montes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dowe swings widly with a right hand
and Montes moves into the clinch.

Montes presses Dowe against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Montes shoots in and drives through. Dowe sprawls well.

and Montes counters with a thumping low kick.

Montes dips to his left and cracks Dowe with an uppercut!
Montes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Montes shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Dowe is looking to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dowe can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dowe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dowe is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Montes pulls his head out easily.

Dowe tries to roll over but Montes keeps him under control.

The two fighters roll across the mat, with Dowe trying to push Montes off... Dowe taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
