Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Summit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Azilani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Summit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thomas Azilani!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summit shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Summit gets caught flat footed, as Azilani shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Azilani wants to control from the top but Summit keeps moving.
Summit is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Summit has a closed guard, preventing Azilani from standing up.
Azilani trying to control but Summit is working from the bottom.
Summit wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Thomas Azilani was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Azilani feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Azilani is keen to just control but Summit is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Azilani moves in looking to clinch but Summit pushes him off.

Summit works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Azilani wants to stand but Summit is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Thomas Azilani.

Summit shoots for a takedown but Azilani saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Summit swats away the attempt to clinch by Azilani.

and Summit counters with a good low kick that Azilani was not able to check.
Azilani tries to score a power double leg takedown but Summit sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Azilani somewhat.

Azilani shoots in but no luck this time.
Daniel Summit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Azilani.
Summit is trying hard to land a takedown here. Azilani sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Summit shoots in for a double leg but Azilani sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Summit is breathing heavily.
Azilani shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Summit but Summit pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Summit throws a right and a left that both miss.

Summit drives through and clinches with Azilani against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Azilani tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Summit just stands there and leans against the cage.
Azilani gets underhooks to prevent Summit's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Thomas Azilani will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Azilani manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Summit on his heels. He'll look to pass Summit's guard now, I'm sure.

Summit has his foot on Azilani's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Azilani works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Azilani sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Summit's guard.
Well, if Azilani is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Azilani tries to stand but can't do so whilst Summit controls his leg.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Azilani shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Summit pinned against the cage. Summit gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Azilani shoots in looking for a takedown but Summit manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Azilani's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Summit moves into the clinch successfully.

Summit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Azilani is defended easily by Summit.

Summit manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Azilani got a little sloppy there for a moment and Summit has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Azilani has managed to get both his arms back between Summit's legs - danger averted.
Azilani wants to control from the top but Summit keeps moving.
Azilani working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Summit is working an open guard so Azilani takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Azilani clinches up with Summit and pushes him back against the cage.
Summit drops down looking for an ankle pick but Azilani pulls his leg out and moves away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Horrible takedown by Summit or perhaps it was just good defense by Azilani which made him look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Azilani showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Summit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Azilani throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Summit's waist but Summit gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Azilani off to one side.
Summit ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Summit fails to land with a series of punches.

Azilani gets a double leg takedown into Summit's guard.
Azilani trying to control the position from guard on top but Summit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Azilani slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Summit is looking to regain half guard here but Azilani keeps moving and retains side control.
Summit is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Azilani's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Summit could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Summit wants to get back to his feet.
Azilani moves into full mount! Summit won't be happy about that!
Summit is trying desperately to improve position.
Azilani looking to control but Summit is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Summit bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Azilani controls Summit momentarily but Summit frees himself.
Summit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Azilani on the ground.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Azilani holds on and takes a little breather.

Azilani wants to get back to his feet but Summit is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Azilani feints and then cracks Summit's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Summit down.
Summit fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Azilani has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Summit, as that shot connected.
Azilani shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Summit sprawls well. Summit wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Azilani gets slowly back to his feet.

Daniel Summit has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Thomas Azilani is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Daniel Summit is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Summit changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Azilani tries to avoid it but Summit manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Azilani to the ground. Azilani escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Thomas Azilani comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Azilani winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
