PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Braida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Braida comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Here I am kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Braida.
Darko fails with the takedown
and Braida counters with a nice body shot.
Braida throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Braida pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Braida connects with a jab.
Braida throws a nice looking combination but Darko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Braida feints a jab promting Darko to slip. Braida then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Darko slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Braida shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Darko eats them both and turns towards Braida to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Darko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Braida throws a push kick but Darko slaps the foot to one side.

Darko takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Braida will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Braida throws a quick inside leg kick.
Braida fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Braida lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Darko at a distance.
Braida uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Darko.
Braida pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Darko back to the cage. Braida follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Darko takes a swing at Braida's ribcage but misses.
Darko is looking to wear down Braida with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Braida.
Darko swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Darko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Braida moves away.
Darko walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A decent looking cross lands there for Braida.
Braida swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Braida looks to land a left hand but Darko moved out of range nicely.
Darko thows a body shot but no joy.
Brian Braida is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Darko is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Braida.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Darko might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Darko closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Braida's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Darko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Braida working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Darko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Darko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Darko lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Darko stands and throws Braida's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Darko cracks Braida with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Darko immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Braida is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Darko!

Donnie Darko tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
