PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tie Domi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yonjiro Hanma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yonjiro Hanma told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Domi.
Domi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hanma's waist but Hanma gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Domi off to one side.

Hanma gets caught flat footed, as Domi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hanma manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Domi manages to get himself to full guard.

No joy there for Domi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hanma winds up and cracks Domi with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hanma thows a huge punch but Domi dodges it nicely.

Hanma seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Domi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Oh Domi is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hanma lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Domi quite badly. Domi pulls Hanma in close trying to recover. Hanma postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Domi on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Domi doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
