PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Saul Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pappy Roofie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes to the cage accompanied by Survivor - 'Burning Heart'. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Pappy Roofie enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Roofie.
Roofie fails with a takedown attempt.

Roofie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Alvarez moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Roofie shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Roofie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Roofie seems to have recovered his senses.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Alvarez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Roofie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alvarez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Roofie has Alvarez in his guard.
