The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin scores with a crisp jab that stopped Mihai in his tracks.
Karelin lands with a hook. Mihai tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Karelin takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Karelin wants to clinch up but Mihai keeps it at a distance.
Mihai tries to close the distance and clinch but Karelin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Karelin doesn't manage to clinch there - Mihai circles away.
Mihai tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Karelin was well out of range. Poor timing from Mihai.

Karelin closes the distance and clinches.
Mihai goes for a takedown in the clinch but Karelin prevents it.
Mihai is trying to pull guard but Karelin has him pressed against the cage.
Mihai is pressed against the cage. Karelin pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts Mihai! Two more big strikes from Karelin and Mihai crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
