Heino kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Lamb of God - Now You've Got Something to Die for. Stix Cornwell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heino has a takedown stuffed.
Heino fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stix Cornwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Heino looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cornwell forces his way into half guard.

Cornwell is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cornwell escapes and gets back to his feet.

Heino is in a horrible position here. Cornwell smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Heino slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Cornwell tries to pass to full mount but Heino defends it.

Cornwell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Heino manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Cornwell looks gassed!
You can see the frustration on Heino's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Heino is trying to control but can't.

Cornwell decides to return to a standing position.
Heino fails with the takedown

and Cornwell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Heino won't be happy with that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pekka Heino. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Heino tries to bench press Cornwell off him but Cornwell keeps the position.

Heino is not content to let Cornwell control the position.
Cornwell should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
