Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dae Jung Pak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chuck Vogelpohl!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vogelpohl is looking to clinch.
Pak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Vogelpohl swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A head kick misses from Pak.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pak, right into the meat.
Pak uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vogelpohl has time to react.
Pak goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Pak misses with an uppercut. Vogelpohl saw that one coming.
Dae Jung Pak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Pak throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vogelpohl throws a big shot that misses.

Pak moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Pak lands a big head kick that sends Vogelpohl tumbling to the mat! Pak takes a step backwards and waves Vogelpohl back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pak tries to keep at a distance but Vogelpohl has taken the fight into the clinch.
Vogelpohl lands an elbow inside that Pak shrugs off.


It looks like Dae Jung Pak has been cut.
Pak wants to get back to striking at distance but Vogelpohl won't allow it.
Vogelpohl is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Pak is keeping busy.

Pak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pak throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Vogelpohl lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Pak throws a sloppy head kick and Vogelpohl moves out of range easily.

Pak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Vogelpohl counters with a shoot takedown. Pak fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Pak wants to stand and escape but Vogelpohl is having none of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pak is looking to control Vogelpohl's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pak avoid being mounted?

Pak wants to get back to his feet.

Vogelpohl darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Vogelpohl misses with a straight right.
Pak cracks Vogelpohl with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vogelpohl throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pak stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pak looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Pak feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vogelpohls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pak works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dae Jung Pak.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pak, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
