Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Battane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Battane told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baker circles away.
Baker misses with a double jab.
Battane moves in looking to clinch but Baker pushes him off.
Battane misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Baker lands with a nice combination. Battane backs away looking to recover.
Battane thows a left - swing and a miss!
Matt Baker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Battane looks for a takedown but Baker sprawls well.
Battane shoots for a takedown but Baker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Matt Baker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Battane.
Battane pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooh!!! Baker has knocked Battane down with a huge combo! Baker steps away and waves a wobbly Battane back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like James Battane has been cut.
Battane looks winded!
No joy there for Baker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Baker throws a series of punches but Battane moves out of range.
Baker cracks Battane's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Battane slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Baker can do further damage! This one is done, son!
